looking for advice on 22RTE Repairs

How hard is it to rebuild the CT20 i found a good rebuild kit on e bay for under 100 bucks?

also should i upgrade to a ct26?
also how hard is it to get lifter ticks to go away?
i plan on trying to do all this work when i do the timing chain and metal guides

and what about inter coolers and trying to turn up the boost to like 8 or 10 maybe?

There is a new forum on these motors in particular that might answer your questions:

If that rebuild kit is seals and some bearings, it's not worth $100. Besides, without knowing how to rebuild it - and reassemble it in proper orientation - and have a machine to dynamically balance it, you shouldn't try to rebuild it at home. Blaast performance in Canada - and a number of rebuilders in the USA can do it right for around $300, assuming it's in reasonable shape.

You can upgrade the a CT26 (supra version only) with a little work - you can also upgrade to a small T3 with an adapter - how either of these work with factory EFI, you'll have to ask on the above forum.

I ran without an IC for a while. The 22RE and 22RTE both have really high intake temps and an IC will make a big difference. I dropped about 70 degrees off my intake temps with a $30 intercooler.

lcengineering turbo kit

Garrett T3/T4 turbo
manifold adaptor
gaskets
custom oil lines

$1600 but the turbo is completely rebuildable easy to find parts for and WAY more reliable than ty ass CT20

time to bust out the credit card/

Where did you end up putting the IC? I have AC and am stuck putting the IC up over the engine somewhere, what sensor did you use to measure intake temps?

I mounted it behind the skid plate and built a scoop for it.
My intake temps are measured at the intake - I have a GM sensor, but you can use the stock sensor that's in the IAT.
