Look what I broke.....

I knew I had a broken LSPV rod. So I said to myself why don't I just strap it up, then all will be good.... OK so while I was under there I found this...

Sorry about the crappy pictures, crappy camera and poor light..

Can't see too well, but it's the upper link mount - shouldn't it be connected to the axle tube?




Blurry picture, but plenty of daylight under the mount...


So how should I go about fixing this? Just weld it and be done with it?

But I did manage to finally install this...

You need to clean the area up, grind off the old weld on the tube and the mount. Then re weld it, you will get better penetration removing all the old weld. If you weld over old welds you will not get good penetration, and you will be redoing it. Then spray it with some paint when your welds cool.

from the looks of it, it hasn't too much clean steel where it mounted! It has been happening for a while, it just finally detached!
