longbed VS short bed measurements

I have heard its a foot difference but never heard an exact measurement. Im about to bob my bed and i have been doing some thinking....It would be best if i just cut it down to a regular bed so i still have room to sleep/ longer springs when i get to that point. How much should i remove to get that standard bed size?

P-shop of what id like it to look like once cut.

That's exactly what I did a month ago (cut it from a long bed length to a shortbed length)...or close enough. Mine measures about 76"..maybe a little less. But, nonetheless a short bed truck cap fits perfectly on it. The long wheelbase short bed look made me very happy, and will definitely help with some of that departure angle on the trails.

Have fun if you decide to do it. Took me and my buddy about 8 hours from start to finish, but all went very well. I'd do it again if I had the chance.

Short bed looks much nicer than long. I have always loved the compact no space wasted look of Toyota's and those long beds just seem to hang out into space.
I love your truck DC Yota

Thanks man...she's a keeper I'm far from done with it, but I'm happy with where it's headed.

Lots of stuff to do, as always.

I wound up doing this and im looking it up to get the measurements again so i dont have to bring my truck to the shop to do the new bed. Heres how she looks and is having a bed and cab swap right now so he will be painted all purdy and not rusting.
