Locking gas door 2 gen 4wd pickup
Well since summer is upon us, I figure I better find a way to secure my fuel. I have been looking for a locking gas door, but I notice only 2WD trucks have them. Will a Japan 2WD gas door fit on a 4WD U.S. bed.
I rather avoid buying a locking gas cap, don't need a bunch of keys on my keyring

Sorry but this is not very helpfull but I had to share.
Was at work this morning at around 3:30 and was driving down a "Residential" area in vancouver.
Saw a brand new FJ with its gas door open and the cap hanging out.
Sucks.
p.s The 2nd gen 4x4's didnt come with locking doors?
Thats odd.

our 87 2wd has locking gas door.
It has two keys, one for the doors and fuel door and ignition.
I dont know how'd you'd get a fuel door with lock that matched your iginition key?

Last place I worked we had a work van. Bout once to twice a week it would get the gas stolen out of it. They would jus thit the locking cap with a hammer or pry it off lol..
There were a lot of auto break'ns behind the store so most of us parked out front. They finally moved the van out front, in plain view and within a few days the whole van got stolen! HAHA..
was actually pretty funny.. owner didnt laugh tho =p

When I was at the junkyard last week I pulled the key out of ignition of an 86 2WD truck and it opened the gas door. I nearly bought the door because it was the same color code as my truck
Maybe Toyota figured the people who owned these trucks are BMF and don't need a locking gas door.

i have a late 89 pickup with locking fuel door. Personally, i think it's a bitch ... i have been long thinking of fabbing a remote mechanism for it. I hate having to stop the engine, turn off the heater and stereo, not to mention freeze my A$$ off in Duluth MN with -45 wind chills to fiddle with the damn thing to get it to open.
