My lock is broken. You can hardly stick the key in and when you do you CAN NOT turn it. It was that way when I bought it. Is there anyway I can get a replacement? Do I have to use that key...or can I get a lock made for my key?

Get a lock out of a junker truck, and have the lock re-keyed to your ignition key.

Or just pull the lock.

On mine I've found that it works fine when I use it regularly, but when I dont use it for awhile it tends to get sticky, and I need to jiggle the key around to get it to unlock.

could try some graphite and see if it loosens it up a bit. It will be expensive im guessing to re-key a lock to work with your ignition key

just spray it with wd-40 or some lubricant and see what happens first. My door locks were also kinda stuck until i lubed them up.

22 bucks to get a used lock cylinder re-keyed to my ignition key ( drivers side door)

ya the stealer is a rip but sometimes the best place to go.

toyota 1 you and others could always add magnets to make it stay shut. I know it makes it easy for thieves but thats not a huge risk one would think

With gas as expensive as it is, I don't trust the tweakers. I am going to get a locking gas cap too.

mine crapped out. had to prybar it open at the gas station. got it, then just took the lock clip out and threw them in a drawer at home. might fix it. perfer it without. when i get a new bed (this one is hammered) im gonna shave it and flip it inside the bed.

graphite is the way to go but I usually spray a rust eater type lube in mine. My rear gate lock is sticky since I don't use it much as is the passenger side lock on the front door.

I tried a bunch of stuff but couldn't get it to budge. I have decided to just get it rekey'd. Much cheaper!

Sorry, but I am going to have to pass. My friend just rolled his 87 Toyota so I am going to grab the lock cylinder...maybe...or just find one in a junk yard. Thanks though!

you can probably get a locksmith to rebuild the one you have just as easily

maybe...it sounds like it is broken inside. I took a hammer and hammered the key in to get it in. I could kind of get it out but I had to use vice grips.
