Locked Up 3.0

Finialy drug the yota out of the weeds. Im in the process of getting it driving again. Well, i hit a snag. The truck sat for almost 2 years and the engine seems to be locked up.

Removed the spark plugs, shot a healthy amount of wd-40 in the cylinders (sat over night). Tryed to bar the engine over, nothing.

Anyone have any tips, or tricks??

If I remember right you can use diesel fuel to try and break the rust out of the rings. either way your gonna need to hone the cylinder walls so you might as well start breaking down the heads.

take a large round pipe (1/2 to 3/4 the piston size and use that as the punch to do the initial break of the pistons once you have it all open.

you might just consider getting a second motor. a lot less work for one that hasn't sat for ages.

I don't think a full swap will be the best solution. If you do decide to go that way there was a Ford rad that replaced my copper core Toyota rad for an upgrade. It should handle the extra heat. otherwise your needing to custom mount the radiator into the small 4runner frame

Just a thought i had. I know a 3.4 would be almost a drop in. a 1uz, or 350 would be good options. The 4.7 is free, i have almost everything to swap it, and the t case is an atlas2. But wiring it up looks like a huge pta.
