lock ot hubs?
I have been wanting to switch over to manual hubs for some time now in hope to reduce wear on my cv shafts and hopfully improve gas milage. A friend of mine has a set of aisin hubs off a 1990 toyota tacoma and I wanted to put them on my 1993 4runner but I was wondering if I needed the conversion kit or if they will just bolt right in. any help would be greatful

Does your '93 4Rnr have the ADD system?
btw: No such thing as a '90 tacoma! Tacoma's were introduced in mid-'95. Before that, trucks were called Trucks.

. The first time I packed a set of Warns on the first 4x4 I had, I absolutely filled them with grease, because hey, more is better, right? Got out in the woods, and couldn't figure out why my front wheels were turning. Turned back around, got home, and started checking transfer case, driveshaft, and all the parts that I thought would do it. Eventually tracked it down to the hubs, and noticed that they were so full that the gear that engages the hub splines to the axle shaft splines was unable to move. Oops.

Key word here is slightly, ramming them full of grease will impede operation. Ask me how I know . The first time I packed a set of Warns on the first 4x4 I had, I absolutely filled them with grease, because hey, more is better, right? Got out in the woods, and couldn't figure out why my front wheels were turning. Did the same thing with my first set of Warns....... glad I'm not the only dingbat who's done that.
