Location for U shaped coolant hose on back of head/block of 86 22RE?
I had my friendly local dealer order replacement coolant hoses for every hose on the block since all of mine look original on my 86 4runner 22re.
I can locate all but one small U-shaped hose:16261-35030 water bypass. Can someone advise on where this is located? I've been outside in the dark for 20 mins with a flashlight and cannot locate it.
If available, a pic would be even more helpful. Thanks!

It's buried under the EFI stuff. Kinda between the throttle body and the cylinder head. You're probably better off feeling for it with your hands and then looking up from underneath the engine. This pic doesn't show it but kind of where it is.

In where those twisty tubes behind the water pump in the drawing.
I'll poke around for something better but that ought to get you started.
Good luck.

I just found it as well. Thank you. Wow. This is going to be a tough one to replace. Probably wouldn't be so bad if I didn't have A/C. It's buried under the intake and sandwiched between the block and AAV.
Thanks again!

Sorry I don't have the part numbers anymore. I also think that some of the hoses are different year to year. You can always call any other dealer around the country and ask for pricing and part numbers then simply say you'll get back to them.
I use Broadway Toyota in Portland and they are excellent.

New pictures?
Trying to find where this u- shaped coolant line goes. The links seem to be dead for me. The earlier posts talked about it being by the AAV, but what's the aav?

These Gates part numbers fit a 92 22RE. I think they fit 86 too. Installed all mine 5 years ago, and they are still doing fine. Read the comments on what Gates parts numbers you need. My review was from 2017.
The link below is the coolant bypass hose that goes up under the intake Gates 18400.

This picture may help. I call the valve in question the Idle Air control valve(IACV)
There's a 4" metal pipe that bolts into the back of the timing cover on the passenger side. That hose goes onto that pipe. It is in a pretty miserable location. Even worse if you have AC.
The pipe is visible if you look under the intake near the timing cover. The hose, not so much.
