I just bought a 10" Rigid light bar and realized there's no easy way to just bolt it up. Seeing as most of my ideas come out looking pretty trashy, what are some ways I can mount it on the front of my 93 pickup that will look clean?

Do you have stock bumpers? aftermarket? Winch? A picture of the front might help with some brainstorming

It's a completely stock front end. I'll see if I can get a picture up.

What is your end goal? Do you want to have a light bar to mount specific lights, or want to mount lights and don't care if a light bar is involved, or just want more light in general?

I've seen some members mount 5-6" rounds to the lower valence in the center grill area with no bar needed.

There are alternatives if you are just looking to get more light out of the headlights and want to keep the front end looking clean by not adding additional lights.

take out the two top bumper bolts and use those holes.

Been thinking about the same thing problem I have is the front is curved and it's really hard to work with it, I might take my bumper off and slice a hole the size of a bar fab up some brackets and try to flush it in but I don't know what size will be to big before I end up with the light sucked in from the curve of the bumper if that makes sense.

I'm almost thinking of getting something that will fit in both my signal holes and moving the signals to the running lights, but I'm having the same issues I don't want it to look tacky

Post up what you end up doing though most bars I see on our years are on a big aftermarket bumpers or its just mounted on whatever and looks like poop

i know its not the same but this is how i mounted my first light bar. with the 2wd grill it fit a 30'' bar almost perfect with the lower grill bar cut out.


you could probably do something similar if you put on the 89-91 grille center section.

What about a small push bar. Ive seem one made from tube just came out under the chrome just wide enough for his lights

The light bar is an actual light that is 10 inches long. I dont mean a light mounting bar, its an actual light. Exactly like the one that Robert posted on his truck but not as big.

Replace 3 floods with led bar. Still a cleaner mount with your protruding grill.

I got it mounted. Just bolted it to the bumper and cut out a little of the grill so that it wouldnt be sticking way out. I think someone wanted a picture, so once it stops dumping rain I'll go take one.

Here it is. All I did was cut out a section of the grill and set it back in until the mounting brackets were flat on the bumper. I couldnt put the whole thing in flush with the grill because the back of the light tapers up and theres a power steering line that runs right there.

How bout a side shot. Looks good from the front. Also could you get a close up of your a piller lights. Im digging it better than my last hokey idea

I'll take one in a little while. And the two smaller lights are just mounted on old CB antenna brackets haha. I do need to drop them a little though cause they look like theyre sitting way too high. But yeah I'll do that too.

It's crazy bright! You get into places on the edge of town with no light whatsoever and you can see everything.

Thanks. Im currently going though my yearly lighting midlife crisis...its a love hate hid relationship.
