Leveling question
I have some pretty bad rear sag on my 93 3.0 P/U and I was thinking about getting some replacement springs in the back. I talked to the local suspension shop and they suggested 1 1/2 lift old man emu springs in the back and crank up the torsion bars but they priced it out between $600 and $700. I was wondering if anyone has done anything similar to a 89-95 pickup and what leafs they used and how difficult it was. I am planning on doing it my self because I think they are ripping me off. I would appreciate anyone's insight.

if you are looking to do it on the cheap you can always get Add-a-Leafs. I did this and it lifted my rear a full 2in, but mine was bad. Had them in for about a year and i just measured and i have not dropped at all, cost was $35 for both sides and the new center pins.

I got a set of add-a-leafs for a '05-current Tacoma and used them on an '86. They worked out far better than I even thought, being up slightly and the ride is SOO much better.
When using any type of add-a-leaf just make sure they are long and the same thickness as a leaf. The short, thick add-a-leafs are crap and ride likewise.

I was thinking about add-a-leafs but now Im thinking blocks and maybe shackles. I think my springs are good enough for a couple more years and then I'll think about getting some new spring from whitney or maybe some adds. But what blocks or shackles would you guys recommend?

If you're only looking for height enough to level the truck back out and want to do it cheaply, an AAL is your best option to return the truck to stock height or possibly a little higher. I would only use a block if you wanted more height on a lift spring.
Shackles or AL's are your best option IMO...

Doesn't matter, the one I used came probably from an ebay kit. I don't really know since I bought it from a local club member who just said he bought the kit online.
