Let there be lift!
I recently found some 6-8" rear shackles at a local junk yard. Didn't cost me that much at all either. I put them on today, and cranked my torsions up a bit and vwala, I managed to get around 2-3 inches of lift! More than likely the cranked t-bars will be temporary, since I plan on getting bj spacers sometime in January. I will get before and after pics up tomorrow.
On a second note: I got that little 2wd home yesterday, and insured today. I still have to get the starting problem fixed, I believe the carburetor needs to be rebuilt. I have to do an open flood to get it to try to start. It may be a fuel pump though, I guess I'll just see if I can diagnose it first.

torsion bars have to be cranked to recive lift even if you put on balljoint spacers. All the spacers will do is allow you to get a little more down travel back after you have cranked them.

If you install spacers, you will have 1.5" of lift over wherever your truck is at the time of the install.

Actually this is not true. If the suspension is stock, it need not be touched after the install. If the bars have been cranked, then it is best to lower the front to 1.5" of lift at the install.
If you install spacers, you will have 1.5" of lift over wherever your truck is at the time of the install.

Opps I forgot toyotas have the torsion bars on the UCA's Im still used to my nissian it had them on the LCAs.
