Leaking waterpump, what all needs to be replaced

Alight, I've pretty much determined from what I have seen on my truck and from what I have read on here that my water pump seal/gasket is leaking.

I know I'll need to replace the pump, pump gasket, probably the thermostat and timing belt.

Is there anything else I need to replace while I'm in there???

Also, does anyone have a PDF manual for a reference? What all do I need to take off the front of the engine to get to the water pump?

Thanks for the help!!!

it's easy as cake. grab some sockets and match them up to the bolt sizes...... take off the fan, belts take off the tensioner and the ps bracket wheel. now you got lots of room... take a blade and scrape off all the gasket (if you dont it will leak) replace gasket .. put everything but fan back on and check for leak. if no leak fan back on and drive,

Awesome, great start, thanks!

Timing belt
Idler Pulley
Water pump/gasket

Tensioner pulley?

cam/crank seals? Not sure where to find this using the RockAuto parts catalog.

I see RockAuto has timing belt 'kits'. Are these worth getting? What brand is factory OEM?

I would like to buy all factory OEM parts if I could.

Also, are there any specialty tools I need? I wouldn't think so, but...

That's not the kind of specialty tool/tools I'm referring to lol.

I've got those items well covered...

Its a 1992 3VZE.

Why is ENGNBLDR better than rock auto? It appears they don't carry very much for parts.

i like dealing with them. never had a part fail me, just e-mail and tell him what ur needing

although not for ur truck.. but mine 219$ .40 pistons and he got back to me in less than 24 hours. (master rebuild kit) when i just replaced the top end it was like 158$ should have replaced it all at 1 time. now im having to build a fresh new engine cause i didn't replace my bearings when i should have

ALright, I'll look into that.. thanks.

In that manual I downloaded, it shows you need an SST tool to remove some of the pullys to replace the timing belt. Does this need to be done to get to the water pump?

Cam and crank seals are under engine at Rockauto.

These are the brands you'll find in the Toyota box:
Pulleys - NSK or Koyo
Timing belt - Mitsoboshi (MBL is the same, I believe)
Water pump - Aisin
Thermostat - Kuzeh
Ancillary belts - Bando
Tensioner - not sure
Seals - Ishino

Yes, the timing belt has to come off to get to the water pump. Do a search here for crank pulley holding tool (or something like that) and several easy to make tools pop up.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate it...

One more thing, should I take the radiator out? or do I need to? is it easy to do? I would think it would be...I'm sure it would make everything else easier if it was out.

I leave it in...just cover the engine side with a piece of cardboard to protect the fins.

I had a leak once and went in all the way. I replaced the gasket on the water pump, thinking that was the problem. When I got it all back together it still leaked. I recommend replacing the whole water pump even though it is more expensive. I had to go BACK in and do it all over again. And yes, might as well replace the thermostat, timing belt..etc while you are in there. No you don't have to take off the radiator.

Alright, how do I get the power steering pump pulley off????

That manual I downloaded tells you in what order to take things off, but it doesn't tell you HOW.
