Just put a $400 header kit on my 94 x-cab and it doesnt fit..

Header fits fine, connector (1041015) has a weird bend toward the frame that causes contact with the torsion bar mount. LCE says its Toyotas fault. "Toyota did some weird things", they say. I say they welded the flange on at the wrong angle or something. They want to send me the connector for the 4 runner which is a slip and clamp deal (1041012). I dont like the idea of spending 4 hundy just to end up rigging it in the end.

Are you a 4cyl? I know my 88 had some issues but it bolted on and did ok. If its just totally not going to work and you dont like their fix...get a refund and try another vendor.

I had the EXACT same problem with my header. I just bent it over a little bit. Definetly NOT happy with LC Engineering in terms of that pipe. The header itself fit great, and 3 years later looks brand new still. Dont let them tell you its Toyota's fault, everything at Toyota was built to an exacting specification.

I had to settle with what they sent me cause my exchaust had to be back together that day (old exhaust was wrecked). If you have the time to wait, dont just settle for what they sent. Make them send you a correct pipe.

I agree that the LC headers for the 22RE have problems. I went thru the same issues with my 88, and I talked to LC about it as well.

My install had issues with the extender pipe which goes between the collector and the cat convertor. The way I fixed mine was to cut the flange off the cat convertor and re-weld it to match the misaligned flange on the header extension.





These pictures are of the original installation. Notice that the O2 sensor is cocked.

i had a Lce header on my 22re it fit great had no problems

I see the issue. I would take the pipe out and have the sensor port rewelded

Mine fit "straight up and down" by the cat...

The close-up pictures don't tell the whole story. Here's a picture viewed from the outside. Notice that the header pipe is pointing down towards the ground instead of running parallel to the frame, causing the cat to hang out under the truck... a very ugly installation.

As mentioned above, I have since turned the header extension pipe so that the O2 sensor is at the 12 oclock position. The inlet flange on the cat was cut off and rewelded to match the pipe. Everything tucks neatly under the truck now.

** Nope. It's not a salt truck. The entire undercarriage and driveline was completely restored. The chassis has 200 miles on it now.

Sounds like the one ya got had a new welder or someone dropped the jig from the top row of the pallet shelf on to the ground and bent it...

Again, we're not talking about the header, rather the 22" connector pipe that has an unnecessary bend to the outside that LCE refuses to recognize.
