Anybody else been completely unable to get the right knock sensor wire? 1994 4runner 3.0.

This is the only style I can find anywhere! What am I supposed to do? Replace KS so it matches on that end and splice the other end into my wiring harness??
The order of those got mixed up. The ends in the bag are from the pig tail I ordered. As you can see the ends on my vehicle are round and the ends on the new wire I ordered. Genuine Toyota part. Went to my dealer and all they can find is the Wire I already have.
They've given you the correct one. But it isn't the one you need. It is correct for a 94 4Runner. For some reason your engine is older than your VIN would indicate. What's the story on that?

82219-89103 which is for 88-92. What they gave you was for 93-95.
I could narrow it down quite a bit if I could look at it. From what I can see it's most likely an 89-92. The 88 is super rare these days(and sticks out like a sore thumb with the pressed steel, instead of cast, motor mounts). It should also have the spring style timing belt tensioner(though I wouldn't be too surprised if it didn't). And the old style distributor(for sure, since the wiring for the KS tells me pretty well what the engine wiring harness has for the rest of the connectors). Plastic, not aluminum, thermostat housing/water inlet(probably). Hmmm....what else is there?
Thermostat housing seemed to be aluminum. What major differences do I need to be aware of if this is an older engine? Anything I've bought for it before has been correct. My intake gaskets and valve cover gaskets are correct.
What the...? You have the new style distributor...and the old style knock sensor? How's that possible?
What to be aware of? You have one odd ball 3VZ-E that's for sure. The timing components aren't an exact match for your year(belt, pulleys/idlers, tensioner, fan bracket, timing cover, etc.). The newer(93-95) style hydraulic tensioner probably won't bolt to your heads(if you ever wanted to change to that style). But then again it might(who knows what year the heads are, I could tell you if the hydraulic tensioner would fit if I could see the front of the R head, the bolt hole for it is covered up in the pic above). Other than those things, you can mix and match most parts from different years without issues. So long as most of those parts aren't electrical, and/or from an 88. Lots of stuff from the 88 only works with the 88. But most of the electrical stuff(89+) in actuality would still be compatible, even if it had different connectors. For instance, you could use the older style distributor, but you'd have to splice in an old connector for it. Pretty sure you could do the same with the knock sensor too.
EDIT: Just realized if it's got the new style distributor it will most likely accomodate the newer timing components. Meaning I'm almost positive there's a bolt hole for the newer tensioner. Without having to investigate further. But I've been wrong before, and it wouldn't surprise me if I was wrong again.
