keyless entry?

I have a 1995 4runner limited, it has all the options that i know of. When i bought it it didnt come with a remote for the power locks, I was wondering if 95's came with them?

It didnt have the original key either so im thinking someone lost it. Is there anyway to tell if it has keyless entry? and would any remote work for it? thanks

Mine has power locks and windows, your best bet, just go get a basic viper alarm (i have the 350HV, or something like that) that comes with a key fob for lock, unlock, and panic.

Mine ran me 180 installed.

If you are just looking for keyless entry and/or alarm system i would highly recommend http://www.commandocaralarms.com. I have their keyless entry and alarm on my truck and couldnt be happier. Plus it is much cheaper than viper. ;]

If you go to the dealership they can run your vin# and tell you if you had factory keyless entry or not. Then you could buy a key fob from ebay or somewhere else.

Another way to check is to take the lower part of the dash apart. Many factory keyless systems just use an aftermarket alarm that is only partially installed. I've seen this many time while doing alarm installs for customers. Sometime we take out the "factory" alarm and install the viper or whatever and other times we can finish the factory install. Since you don't have remotes if there was a "factory" keyless installed then you could see what type of remote you need. if in doubt drive it to your local alarm dealer and they can look at the unit and tell you what you need. They can also help you program the new remote. That will need to be done regardless if you use an existing system.

theres a plastic box above the brake pedal, to the left of the steering column. Would that be it? Ive tried looking and layout diagrams of the locks, but it doesnt show the central system location.

I was wondering about this as well.
Is the plastic box you are talking about a brownish color?
I have a 93 SR5 with power everything but no remote
