KC Long Range. Damn Expensive!
Hey guys, so with the up coming winter I've started to consider adding some auxiliary light to my front bumber. KC is a name that I've heard here and there. Holy funkadelic. Their "long range" HID light systems are expensive. www.kchilites.com/store/Long-Range-C36.aspx
For a thousand bucks I might as well through that towards a new engine and just not drive at night! Anyone have any thoughts on why these lighting packages might be so expensive. I'm still doing searches here on Yotatech but thought I'd ask whether anyone has any feedback on these set ups. Or, whether anyone has a best bang for the buck offroad light set up. I don't mind spending a couple hundred bucks for a package, but the KC HID long range lights are just too much.

The long range system you're listing is for like, racing applications.
35 Watt 4200K Long Range
I have the KC Daylighter Hi-Lites.. Like 180 bucks for two lights.

They're 100W lights.
And the harness is long enough to get to the front bumper, not through the cab and back to the back of the pickup.
I did a "custom" harness.

I have the PIAA 520 ATP driving lights on my front bumper. They are 85W H3's, which PIAA says is equal to 135W XTRA Extreme White, whatever that means.
I picked them up on EBay for less than $200. The harness is plug and play, comes with a switch, relay, everything you need. The ATP pattern is a blended pattern between fog and spot. All Terrain Pattern. 40 degree pattern. Fog is 95 degrees, spot is 15 degrees. It throws a road width +10 foot beam down the middle, out a long ways. I hate running with high beams alone now, the driving lights light up the world.
