Ok I have been searching for the last hour or so and everytime this question comes up the thread turns into an SAS vs IFS rant before any good answers are posted.

With the 1 1.5" BJ's in the front and the rear lifted 2" on my 1986 SR5 Pickup can I or can I not fit 35/10.50/15's without rubbing and without adding anymore lift?

No. I tried it last year. I cut the piss out of the tires till I cut the fenders.

no!... you need 3" of lift minimum! and it will still rub but just a lil, mine would only rub at full lock/flexing. and it wasn't that bad at all. heres a pic of mine, 3"body/35-10.50's.

merace19 - more details please. Especially regarding what wheels they were on and what the backspacing was. I think that is the key - get the tires sticking out like TOYOTA 1 and the rub issues are going to be greatly exaggerated.

Search for posts by Toyofast - he ran them with NO lift, and he said no/minimal rubbing. I ran 34x9.50 TSL's (measure the same as Molly's 35's) on 15x8 rims (yeah, yeah, yeah - I got them that way used, I would never run a 9.5" tire on an 8" rim if I knew that's what it was) with 4" backspacing and had a little rubbing. I don't think they would have rubbed on the stock rims.

Everytime I need tires, I think about getting these ... are you looking at the SSR's?

Yeah I'm thinking the rims are the key. I'm actually looking for some BFG's in 35/10.50/15, I'm not much for the Super Swampers and think they'll just be a waste with the limited wheeling I do.

I have four inches of lift and my 35s rub. Thats under full stuff though.

Yes but according to your signature they are 12.50's. I'm looking at 10.50's on stock Toy alloys.

They don't exist.

BFG also says they have no plans to ever manufacture a tire in that size. I emailed them specifically asking that they put out the KM2 in that size.

Damn. The KM2 is what I was looking at.

Who else makes a 35/10.50/15? I don't want/need a 12.50 tire since I'd have to get new wheels and I'll run a greater risk of rubbing.

Go to TireRack and search that size and see what your options are, DiscountTire too.

Nobody to my knowledge. The only other size remotely close is Q78, the next step down is 255/85-16, then 33x10.50-15

Yup...... options are ZERO. Hell I don't want to go with 35/12.50/15's but that may be my only option if I want the KM2's. I can't afford 1500$ in wheels and tires just to have the front end rub like crazy, then I'll have to drop more money into lifting the rig.

BJ spacers won't limit how far your tire travels upwards, so even if you can clear 35's sitting in a parking lot turning tight circles, a small bump in the road will stuff that tire right up into the fender well.

need mud tires.. unless your bypass all the holes and stuff but tahts the fun part!

It doesn't seem that a tall skinny tire would be the ticket in NM, I'd think you'd want more flotation than height? Although I dig the tall&skinny look (tires that is) kind of old school military

Sorry to quote myself.
But I suppose the correct answer would be "yes and no". You might clear them, but they will rub even with BJ spacers if you hit a bump hard enough to compress the tire into the wheel well. The 35 will end up travelling upwards as far as a 28 will so, figure that in.

With stock suspension, you could fit 35's, just don't turn the wheels.
With the spacers, you can probably turn the wheels, just don't hit bumps.
Make sense?

Most of the trails around here are rock and I can air down a 10.50" tire on 7" rims down to about 12 lbs and get some damn good traction. My 31/10.50s do great in the rocks but the tread pattern is terrible for the limited snow and ice we get. I figured if I was going to shell out some money for new skins with a better tread pattern I might as well get some bigger ones while I was shopping.

I know a lot of folks will think I'm nuts but I don't see the need for a wide tire unless I'm on something like sand and I won't see that stuff until I get back to Texas.
