Just giving you a bit of heck. That bumper is really really nice! I like that it makes the winch impossible to steal without pulling the bumper and you have a great idea for the running lights.

Looks great. Did you brake the plate yourself? Torch and and table edge, or do you have access to a brake?

I'm pretty sure I have decided what I want for the rear, just need to collect up a few pieces of steel. and some lights. Steel has gotten pricey, and you need to buy 20' lengths. But I might copy your design for the front also.

Its just pieces cut and welded together, I don't have a brake. All the structural, and winch plates are 1/4", the rest is 3/16". I bought the steel used at the local yard. Total cost for the steel was about $45.

I just bought a used lincoln 255 and a used Hypertherm 600 plasma cutter and wanted to make a project to try them out. I've never used a plasma cutter before, and to be honest I've never welded much before either.....

The winch is really packed in there tight. without the relief cut in the top, the winch wont fit. I wanted to see the cable for when I am spooling it in anyway. I built everything as small as I could. I don't like bumpers that stick out and I wanted to keep as much approach angle as possible without having the winch in front of the grill.

I love it!!! wicked awesome job! thats pretty much what i would want if i wanted a bullet-proof bumper. You know how much it weighs? W/ & W/O winch? You can estimate if you dont know for sure, i was thinking between 100lbs & 150lbs w/o winch, does that sound right? Again great job! :-)

The bumper probably only weighs about 60-70 lbs without the winch. It's not all that heavy. I tried to use as little steel as possible where it wasn't needed. Thats half the reason I put the parking lights in it.
