Exclamation Just bought a 95 4Runner 22-RE, some questions

AS many of you remember me, i also own a 91 4Runner V6.
Well i now bought a 95 4Runner base package with the 4 cyl.
and here are a few issues right now that i need help with...

when i have the head lights on and heater on it bogs down and surges under acceleration and when i put the signals on it can nearly stall it when the other stuff is on. now i know it needs some work but where should i start??

I would check all the body grounds in the engine bay. Sound like one maybe off or corroded.

engine issues on my 95

okay number 1, i looked at my engine and well the sticker on it says 22R...but I'm pretty sure it's a 22R-E. cause it has EFI.

number 2, i think my crank shaft seal is gone. so like on average whats the most it would cost to get it repaired?

probably around $200 i'm guessing...

i do all of my own work, so to me it costs roughly $5 for the seal from Oreilley's.

It depends on which seal. There are two crank seals ( one in front , in the timing cover and one in the rear under the flywheel. If its the one in the rear you have to pull the engine or trans, then the clutch and flywheel( very expensive if a shop does it in the US) to get at it. The one in the timing cover is much easier ( cheaper). I dont what a shop would charge in your area ( I dont even know what country you are in).

im in edmonton. and its the one in the front, cause the front of the engine is soaked in oil and anything under the engine is just black from caked on oil.

okay that's not that bad. okay so one question then, what tools would i need to change this crankshaft seal in the front of a 22re?? and maybe a part number of the seal i would need. cause i might be able to borrow some tools.

You will need a socket to take the crank bolt off and you will need little wrenches for the bolts holding the oil pump on. It might just be the oil pump gasket that is bad. You will also have to replace that gasket and might as well replace the oil pump also if you have it off.

okay so, does anyone know the sizes that i would need exactly for the tools. and i cant afford a new or used oil pump so for now just seals i will be replacing. So if anyone knows the size of tools that i would need and the part numbers for the oil pump seal and front crank shaft seal i would more then greatly appreciate it.

Exclamation 22RE front main seal help

OKAY well last time i posted up i got a few replies. So Here is what i have figured out so far:

Loosen belts
remove crank pulley
remove/replace oil pump o-ring
remove/replace sleeve w/ speedi sleeve?
replace front main seal and reassemble?

So is there ANYTHING else i need to know at all?
BTW its my 95 4Runner 22RE.

And for tools i need:
Strong arm (torque wrench)
sockets
As far as i know that's it. Anything else that is Necessary?
