Its apart now what?????????????

Yeah the heads are offffff Now its decision time. Is the 3.0 worth the efort and $$$$$$ to do a complete rebuild or do I try to find a 22RE and swap them since I am already this far. I wouldnt mind getting rid of all the computer and emmissions junk. Let me know what ya'all would do. Keep in mind gas is $4+ and I want to drive this thing daily as well as use it for a trail rig.

well the 3.4 is a more reliable and more powerful engine.. if the truck is in good condition other than the motor and your gonna keep it for a while i would def swap in a 3.4 if you have the knowledge and cash for it...

Well I probably dont have either but that hasnt seemed to stop me in the past The truck is in great shape for the shape shes in. I just bought it for 900 bucks and thought I could put in 1000-1500 and still be in excellent shape value wise. So I will start checking around for 3.4s and see what they run and definately consider it.

yea man do the engine swap maybe even rebuild a engine and she go for another 200 thousand kilometers no problems.... there are post out there that detail cost and have good links to this swap.. even a whole section on yotatech... advance adapters and there is a company making wiring harnesses.. but depending how good you are with all this stuff you can fab up alot yourself... thats the best part about having a project vehicle or 2.... dont need to rush and pay someone for a job you can research do yourself from peiceing the parts together yourself...

I did the swap almost a year ago with little more experience than having done a timing chain and head gasket before. It can be done for reasonable money and the truck is way more fun to drive. Fuel economy actually is a bit better.

I say 3.4 it. If you have questions, there are tons of us on here that have done one, all you gotta do is ask.
