Isr mod question.

Hello all, has anyone tried to get rid of the airbox altogether and install a K&n filter with the adapter to connect to the afm? If so, what was done with the 3 emmision hoses? My isr pipe has 2 hose connectors. I was thinking of adding a filter/breather to the valve cover gasket and connect the other 2 to the pipe. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated.

oooooooooo lord !!!!!
are you serious?
dont complain just get a piece of pipe maybe 4.5 inch diameter and about 7.5 inches long at one end strech it a little bit just to fit in the oem rubber pipen and use the oem pipe inverted, and for the isr hose drill a hole in the left side air box and use a copper or plastic fitting and insert the hose in it, your done!!! dont use a k&n filter it will sound like a sick cow believe me!!!!

Yeah, I know what you're talking about. I've never done it, but I seem to remember seeing it here, also.

The only thing I can really comment on is the idea of the breather on the valve cover. It's gonna stink. I have both hoses on that side going to the tube. Just didn't see any point in doing anything different.

Oh, I can comment on the K&N, too. It allows more air, but also contaminants. My understanding is that their real value is with race cars. Those engines get the oil changed a lot more frequently. The motors don't last as long, either. More frequent rebuilds than a DD or even offroader.
