Intermittent starting problem.....Help!!

I have an intermittent starting problem with my 89 4wd pickup, 22RE. It is a manual. For a while now, you have to have the clutch down in just the right spot or it will not start. Lately, it seems no matter how you press in the clutch it may not start and you have to use the over-ride button on the dash to allow you to start the truck without engaging the clutch. Now however, it refuses to start about 1/3 of the time no matter what you do. The battery has plenty of power, that's not the problem. Its left me stranded twice in the last 3 days. Help!

See below:

See if you can rig up some wires to let you keep a volt meter in the cab, then watch the voltage while starting when it works fine and when it does not and if there is a difference, then track down the cause.

Might be your clutch cancel switch or relay:
