Installing radio in '95 Base pickup?
Hey guys, I have a '95 Base Pickup that has no radio (blank plate/pocket covers the radio area). Can anyone confirm if there is wiring behind the panel so that I could install a headunit if I so chose? I was also wondering if the speaker wire is under the dash as well for the front speakers.

I ended up cutting into the door panels for the rear channels and I hated doing it but the front 4 inchers just didn't do it especially at highway speeds. Running wires to the panels is easy enough and a good set of shallow 6 inchers in the doors make all the difference in the world.

You can make some simple boxes out of mdf and mount some 6x9's and lay them under the seats. I made some for mine out of scrap mdf, sealed em up w caulking, stuffed 2-6" pioneer 80w in there, and they rock my truck pretty well.
Wiring isn't that hard either... 1 constant hot(key off), 1 switched hot(key on), 1 ground, +&- wires for each speaker, antanae, etc.. If you have an electrical system, you have the necessary wiring.
Get a simple tester w/a lightbulb, find a constant hot, a switched hot and a ground to chassis, tap into them w/piggyback splices and you're in business, OR... go buy a stereo from a shop and they'll install it for free usually.
