I have a 95 4 runner 3VZ V-6 with a blown head gasket
(is there any other kind)?

I replaced the HG twice and still no compression in 2 cyls, so I have a cracked block or head. Plus I stripped the head on one of the bolts so I cant remove the head again.

Anyhoo, I think I have located a reasonably priced running engine, with the HG recall already done. The replacement engine is from a 91 pickup, comes complete with all accys, wiring harness and computer.

What problems will I run into swapping it into a 95?
Different wire connections? Different PS hoses? Different A/C connectors?

saying your gonna use the engine wiring harness off of your truck your going to need to use your old alternator, the plugs on the back of it are different. you need to you your old distributor. the knock sensor under the lower plenum will need to be changed to the 95 model style and seeing that you will be in there already just get a new one because it very importand, you can but shouldnt use the one off your old motor. depending on weather or not you just have an oil light on your dash or an oil guage you may need to change out the sensor on your new motor depending, its right in front of where your oil filter is. and i would use your original upper plenum because some years have a couple different water lines and such, but im almost sure thats it and if its not im sure someone will correct me, but yeah.

oh yeah when you pull your old engine just unbolt the p/s pump but leave the lines on it, it will work on your new one but just flop it over to the side where the battery tray is and ive found that to be the easiest way and as far as a/c im not sure.

If you replaced head gaskets twice & still have no compression, you have a valve not seating....

The compression is down on two adjacent cylinders.
Im thinking there is a crack in the head, that I didnt see.
