Info on 255/85/16

In my quest for the perfect tire w/no lift.. I came accross this article and thought it'd be interesting to share. It compares a 255/85/16 vs a 33x10.50x15. Sorry if it's already been posted. Article

Yeah, if you do a search on "255" you'll find there are a few threads about this tire size. I think it makes a lot more sense than slapping something on that's 12.5" wide. One thing I would like to point out about the article, is that while he makes valid points, there is not a whole lot to back up his thesis about some of his claims other than anecdotal evidence. For the most part, I agree with it and I plan on running that size when I finally lift. The biggest problem is that if you don't like BF's or Big-O's there isn't a whole lot out there in this size. I'll try to find what other tires there are and post a link.

Edit: here's a link to a recent conversation:Linky

Edit yet again: Hee Hee... looks like you're already there!

That a good site. That guy is posts over on planetisuzoo regarding mods to his Trooper, which he also rates highly.

a few folks have run that tire size on their Troopers based on his experience and have been quite happy. But as mentioned earlier, you are limited in tire choice in that size.
