Red face im beating a dead horse

I posted before about a headlight upgrade about hids and I read I needed a wiring harness.. well after doing a search I found out I can get e-code headlights and run an h4 bulb I found these on amazon
AutoPal Euro Clear H6054 7x6 Inch 200mm Headlights Pair H4 Bulbs Non-Sealed H6014/H6052/H6054 : Amazon.com : Automotive AutoPal Euro Clear H6054 7x6 Inch 200mm Headlights Pair H4 Bulbs Non-Sealed H6014/H6052/H6054 : Amazon.com : Automotive

im wondering are these just plug and go or do I need a harness for these also

Not to be a jerk, which are abundant on public forums, but on the first line under "Product Features"
-Fits H6014/H6052/H6054 sealed beam socket - Plug and Play=

According to Amazon anyway, looks like plug & play. Id be wary of quality though. Ive seen some crappy amazon/ebay lights

There is a thread that covers all this very well already. you'll have to search it I forgot the title.

In short yes they will plug right in, in most cases, but you won't be getting the full upgrade benifit w/o the wiring upgrade.

Correct, bulb upgrade simply masks the problem, you also need to upgrade wiring to minimize voltage drops due to high resistance of thin and long wire.

Search for "H4 conversion". Also "H4 conversion harness" for plug-n play harness. Also go to 4Crawler's website and look for same.

Link on my sig compares voltages drops between stock and upgraded and details how I did mine using only one additional relay and thicker wires.

Correct, you do not need the harness, those fixtures are plug- n play. The harness is an upgrade to minimize voltage drop (meaning power loss) in wiring as explained in my post, as well as other posts.

Not to be a jerk here as well, but I rode with a friend the other night who was showing me his best awesome top of the line lights that he had to run all crazy wire harnesses for, and they had a cool blue tint and shoot way out and really wide etc. etc.

My 2 year old foggy sealed beams did almost the same

To each is own though, do as you please!

my $0.02 is to leave it alone and just get some upgraded sealed beams, as those fancy bulbs seem to get expensive when stuff goes wrong.

But I know nothing about headlights, so I cant really answer your question.

I was going to get something like for my 88 sr5 before I realized that POS I sunk all my time and money into should be on fire in my yard right now, or in a junkyard.

I don't know how they are compared to other lights, because lke I said I don't know anything about lights but they seemed to be an upgrade.

I guess you just plug an H4 bulb into it?

EDIT*** I guess that's pretty much what you're asking....if the wiring harness has to be changed to accommodate the H4 bulb

The stock wiring and wire routing is not even good enough for the stock bulbs, so you are better off upgradeing the harness and going with a "proper" relay system than spending cash on bulbs you won't be getting the maximum from.

You should check out RAD's link on the harness.
