[QUOTE=iamsuperbleeder;51081022]I've decided on the ones I was quoted on by the tire shop that's doing the alignment; cheap ones for now just cause they'll suit my needs; Sumitomo HTR Sport A/T's. Sticking with 31x10.5, for fuel mileage reasons ( I'm on stock gears )
awww come now.. ive stock gears with 33s and it aint to awful bad. jsut put it to the floor before you get to a hill on the interstate and watch your speedo drop lol.

Alrighty, day two got er done!
The weather was great; never got above 80, and not a cloud in sight! So I cranked the radio in the garage, and began work!
pics as promised
Started this morning off by putting the passenger side back together with the new parts, just to give myself some since of progress
then I got to the tear-down of the driver's side
random "in the process" pics... took them during my "lunch-break", lol
after eating, I got back to work and slammed the driver's side in
Here's the life-time warantee CV's
odly enough, the center shaft is a little larger diameter I'm not going to complain though
and the old shafts... that were WELL beyond shot... and to think, I was almost going to do the rebuild and not do these, lol. The drive's side boot had little sticks and crap inside of it... yeah, they've been ripped for a while
And of course, I installed new rear shocks to go with the new front shocks. The rear shocks were so bad, lmao, I didn't realise just how bad they were till I unbolted the lower mount, and pushed it up and compresses it with hardly any force
and ya know, you'd think the rear shocks would have been the easiest part, but oh no... not when the freek'n bushing on both ends are too small they were definately the ones listed for the truck, and the length was perfect and all, but for some odd reason, the bushing were maybe 1/8" diamete too small. So this took a little enginuety under the truck. I just got a longer bolt (the top bolt on the idler arm as a matter of fact ), and used some spacers between the head of the bolt and the shock to press the bushing over the mount. Oh yeah, for spacers, I used wrenches this is about as ghetto-working as it gets, but damn if it didn't work perfect; got both sides on
So she's back on her wheels now in the drive way. I adjusted the TREs as close as I could eye it to the old ones so that it's at least in the ball park of being aligned, that way I know I can make it to the shop to get the new tires and alignment.
Little story As I was tearing down the driver's side, I was thinking to myself and I realized that things were going really smoothly... maybe too smoothly... things were breaking loose pretty easily, wasn't hitting any odd-ball snags during the process like I normally seem to do. Then it happened... As I was removing the driver's side hub, I was using my method of getting the cone washers out; take a short 3/8" drive extention, place one end on the hub-body stud, and hit the other end with a hammer, and after a coupld smacks, the cone washer just pops right out. Well I got to the second to the last one, went to strike the extention with the hamme, and I slammed the hammer right down on my thumb! Well my thumb was laying on the hub body (was using the thumb to hold onto the extention), and I hit it with the hammer right on the nuckle... the bottom of my thumb pressed against the edge of the insde of the hub, and split the skin... and being right on the bone, it hurts like a sum-bitch right now... and it's swolen... I won't be surprised if I fractured a bone... I hit it that hard... But I jut wrapped a shop rag around it to keep the dirt out and the blood in, and continued on

Looks goooooooood
I put the same shocks on my '93 and my '88 came with them already on, practically new. They are pretty decent for what they are and price
