ifs questions
ok...I have a really dumb question, are the springs on the IFS runners built into the absorbers, or is it like the old grain truck we had on the farm...torsion bars only?

torsion bars are springs.... shocks are always just shocks... even on coilovers the shock is just a shock with a spring that happens to be on it

uhhh ok how to explain this,,,,...... ummm look under the truck and find the bars... they run from the upper A arms back and out to the frame rails kinda like this shape / \ they will look like about 1 inch around and black.... and the end is about right under the front seats. now lets focus on just one side(cause they are the same....) you will see a big nut sticking down.... (that sounds so wrong) I think its 24mm.... or 22mm.... all you do is tighten it.. check out www.4x4wire.com i think they have a writeup.... and then get an alignment. or pm elripster and he can send you a link to do your own.

Sounds close enough for my liking. I'll let everyone know how it goes, and how nice the air springs go in the back end too. And I won't forget pictures....

my front suspension is darn near sitting on the bump stops... I'll end up replacing the shocks too, but what can I do about the springs if I want to maintain some of the ride quality. I should have some pics by the end of the weekend. I'll put them in a different thread though.

The front springs should be fine. It sounds like you need to raise the front a bit though so have some compression travel? Pics will definitely help us understand your situation better.

So, I am trying to get something out of the torsion bars. I have turned that bolt head sticking down from where the torsion bar ends just under the front seats. I have turned it righty tighty probably 30 or more revolutions (tough to turn, so using a cheater bar on a ratchet wrench) and haven't seen any lifting. Is it possible that it is a reverse thread? or am I just being a pansy about it? I don't want to eff it up more than I can fix.

hmm thats odd... your turning the big ass one right? look at the other side of it(top side) how much thread you got left? thats the best way to tell if you are doing something. maybe lift the front up on jacks and just turn it till it touches the ground..... not more than 1.5 inches though:S

I measured from the top of the wheel rim to the top of where the wheel well and fender converge. It was 15.25". I then hung a box end wrench 1" higher than the top of the wheel well from the rafter of my garage. Truck hasn't moved height wise. I am going to get under the truck and see if there is any thread on the bolt or if it is stripped. That would suck. Will leave word of what I find.

Is this possibly a new name for the 3 vze, the 3. D'OH!
