idle problem?

i got a 95 p/u 22re and i noticed the other day when i pushed the clutsh in to change gearas and it revved it slef up. so i thought maybe i just didnt let out of teh gas in time. then when i get to the stop sign i pushed the clutch in and my truck reved up. it wasnt constant just sounded like i was pushing the gas then lettin off, but i wasnt. and now it does it bout once everyday then stops. so is theresomethin wrong with my idle? i figure somethin mighta came loose or somethin. thank ye

does it do it if say, you're idling in the driveway then just depress the clutch? or is it more like only when you're driving?

Sounds like a vac leak and the ECU is compensating by raising the idle. You can put a vac gauge on it or you can spray some starter fluid to try and find it. If this is a sudden change, you might just look around and see a hose that came off.

Choke is for carb'd engines. You have the fuel injected 22re. When you first start it up, the engine is cold and the idle is high, after driving for a little bit, the engine warms up and you drop to normal idle, that is when you will see the problem with the vac leak.

use carb cleaner to check for the vacuum leak, or listen for a hissing sound around the intake manifold. if u dont find anything it could be the ac idle up valve.
