IACV stuck bolts

Ok I ran down to the local u-pull-n-pay and grabbed a throttle body off of an 89 4runner, 22re because I need the Idle Air Control Valve off of it (also known as the Auxillary Air Valve and Cold Start Idle Messer Upper) for my rig. Now I know it'd be easier just to swap out the TB's instead of pulling the IACV but the TB I just got doesn't have the TPS on it and I'm not sure if it'll be easier to install a TPS or IACV.

My question is this. How in the hell do you get the little bolts out of the TB so you can pull the IACV???? Those things are in there something fierce! Can I boil the TB in the hopes that the aluminum will expand a little?

Thanks much.

Impact Screwdriver

Are they little bolts or screws?

Maybe something like this will help you out.

I have used something like this before on stuck screws and they do work well.

but If it's still in the intake it's going to be a bit difficult to hit on it.

Hey, thanks for posting that! I need one of those for taking out the rusty phillips head screws in my car's front rotors. I'd rather not drill them out.

Lumpy thanks for the tip on the tool. However I found out today that there is no way in hell for me to get those screws out. I ruined one of them already. So what I'm going to do is learn how to adjust the spare I have on the junk yard throttle body (16$ so I can't complain) and then I can pull the TB off of my rig and adjust it down about 800rpms.

Those freaking screws are in there tight and they are really soft.
