I removed the carpet and....

I pulled the carpet out of my 86 and am planning on cleaning and painting it. I noticed these pads in different places under it stuck to the floor. Any ideas how to dissolve or remove them. They're stuck on there but not part of the metal.

I use dry ice (from the grocery store) take the big block and brake it up into some smaller pieces. put the places stacked all over the pieces you want to remove. let sit for 15-20 minutes. uswe a putt knife, putty scrapper and it peels right off in big chunks. works amazing.

Yes the temperature plays a big part I most often removed mine in the winter.

I never tried it in the summer .

I pulled the new carpet that the pervious owner had laid to see what the original carpet looked like, not too dirty. After pulling the seats out I lift up the carpet and in the middle where the tranny is, that hump, I find a $100 bill under the new carpet...
