I need help with my '86 horn!
So I recently bought an '86 4runner and the horn doesn't work. When I press in the button on the steering wheel I hear a click, but get no response from the horn. Does anyone know what my problem might be? Thanks!

Could be the horns themselves have died or since the relay seems to be pulling in the contacts may be stuck open or wore out or you could have a wiring problem.
If you have little hands you maybe able to test the horns in place me I have to remove them.
Sometimes they stick on and people remove the wires

On my '91 pickup, the horn is bolted in on the passenger side of the front of the truck, between the grille and the radiator. I had to take out the wiper washer tank to get to it, but I think there was just one bolt holding it in.
On my truck, the horn itself went bad, beginning about 10 years ago. I always assumed it was dirty contacts on the steering wheel, but after spending a couple hours taking the steering wheel apart and cleaning the contacts and checking the wring continuity, I discovered this was not the case.
What i would do is remove the horn and test it by connecting it straight to the battery. If it works, hook up a multi tester to the wires going to the horn and confirm you are getting 12 volts to the horn by having someone press the horn while you watch the tester. If there is no current, then you problem is likely dirty contacts in the steering wheel or bad wiring and you;ll need to take apart the wheel and inspect the contacts.
However, before you do anything, check the fuse marked "horn" (which in the fusebox under the hood in my truck) and make sure it's good.

You can try peckinpahs way of checking the horn with a wire. In my build on Post 31,32 and 33 is how I checked and fixed.
