I need help with gauge cluster

Hi everyone I'm working on a 1986 4runner and it has one of those digital gauge clusters or (combination meter). Nothing is working, no rpm, no boost gauge, no fuel no speed nothing. 1 rpm light lights up until you give it gas, oh yeah it runs fine also. Please, can anyone tell me where to start??

I am not familiar with the digital gauge but when my analog gauge stopped working like you are describing, It was my reverse light switch rubbing against the transmission and shorting out and blowing the ENG fuse located in the drivers kick panel.

Check that the connector is not rubbing against transmission. Mine had just a little bare wire exposed and that was enough to cause it to short and blow the fuse. Where my pointer finger is, that is where I had to wrap it up with electrical tape and I am trying to show in the picture.

Some back ground ??

Did it ever work ??

Was it working and just quit ??

Just buy the vehicle that the last owner swapped the cluster and quit ??
