How hard would it be to put A/C in the truck in my avatar 1993 toyo pickup 22re 5spd.

Any pointers in the correct direction on a how to/parts/a shop that would do it in SO. CAL.?

If the truck does not have A/C installed then your best bet would be to find a wrecked truck & buy all of the A/C components or get it all from the pick a part type of yard.

You will need everything though, the compressor, dryer, condenser, evaporator, lines, hoses, expansion valve, dash controls, all new o-rings, etc. If you are mechanically inclined then you should be able to handle it. If not you will have to pay someone.

I added a/c to a 94 pickup i had. I had a junk 4 runner that i pulled the motor from and swaped out all the parts. I had to add the wires in the engine bay. The plug for the comp. was there and the plug under the dash was already there. It was pretty easy to do. The hardest part was running the lines and taking the grille apart to put everything up there. If you get everyting from a junker remember the buttton. I still have the some parts like the evap. and the box under the dash, one of the lines, the rest I would have to check if you are interested.

get a new filter dryer, new o-rings, some pag oil to dip the new rings in before you install.

Try to get your hands on a tank of nitrogen, purge out the system.
pressurize and let it sit on the gauges for an hour or so, to check for leaks
Vacuum the system out..

and fill with a retro fit kit

I did this last week to my Honda, installed the AC into a car that did not have it
