I killed my motor

Ok, so I think I killed my motor. I was wheelin this weekend with flashkl and spun a bearing on the crank. Well, about half way down the trail my bottom end started making this awful noise. We got to the trail head and check my oil, the top back side of the cap was WHITE. so Flashkl ran to the store and picked my up some new oil. We changed the oil and drove it back to my house ( about 20 min) but I think the damage has been done. Anyway, I start calling junkyards and they ask me what month my truck was made in because it matters with engine. ????? Well I know that my truck was made in Feb, and they are searching for an engine for me, but the real question is: Is there a difference? I thought all 89-95.5 3vze's were the same. Does anybody have any insight on this? My goal is to have the swap done by May 1st for vermonster (http://www.vermonster4x4.com/). I missed it last year due to a broken leaf spring, and I don't want to miss it again! Money is tight and no, im NOT doing a 3.4 swap. Id love to buy a whole truck so I can have some spare parts, but beggars cant be choosers.

Ill be using this thread to post pics/ ask questions.

Thanks in advance.

EDIT: I know now that I didnt get water in the oil. I had a large build up of sludge in the engine and spun a bearing.

Well if you got water in the intake you usually don't get water in the crankcase. You more than likely popped another HG if you had/have that much in the oil. I hydro-locked my runner and I never had, still don't have, water in the oil. What I'm hoping I have is bent valves or two and not a bent rod.

As for the month of the motor I'll have to go with Vital as I do not know.

my HG was fine, truck drove back to the house fine, normal power, no white smoke. This is what it looked like when the HG went.

how else would water get in the oil?

Ya that really sucks man!!! Well get the swap done cheep and get the rebuild kit from engnbdr and build the dead one and swap them out again. Sell the replacement one...

I think I found a motor. A junk yard called me back. Its in a truck ( they will pull it) with unknown mileage (the dash has been removed) and its in the town I work in. Ill check it out on one of my lunch breaks next week.

There are quite a few small changes between 89-95 3vze's. Pretty sure you want a 92-95 motor. I know the t-belt adjuster changed, the distributor wiring changed (also changed the cap and wire style) and a few other electrical components are different.

huh. ok. they junkyard said they had one that would be a direct replacement. Id believe them, they asked what month my truck was made in so they could get the best one.

Started working on the truck. Got most of the crap out of the way. Picking up the junkyard motor on monday. What stinks is the garage that im doing this in is about 2 hours away (parents house) so im limited to only working on it on weekends.

Drove 2 hours home. pulled the plugs. they didnt look good. Stuck the video scope down the plug hole and just more bad news. the 4th cylinder has a broken ring and some really bad scoring. so then i went around to the other side and all 3 cylinders had antifreeze in them.

they told me this motor ran when they got it. oh well. its got a 15 day guarantee. Ill being it back and get another one. bringing the scope and tools with me this time so I can just check it at the yard.

its a learning experience. ....but still FML.
