I hate to trash the party - Sonoran Steel IFS Tuss Install

So, I finally got a Sonroan Steel IFS Truss!!! I had been working with a fellow board member who lives in Tuscon Az, not too far from me - and we finally met up last Friday for the hand off.

The before:

The Truss:

The During:

And the final product:

Hopefully this can help out with you guys who are trying to rally and get some Sonoran Steel IFS Truss'....... if I didn't already have this one, I would be all about joining you guys in the quest to have Steve make more.

PS - Thanks again Steve for getting back to me!!!!

I didn't mean to cause any harm/issues for anyone - I was just trying to help out by showing everyone what a quality piece they were being offered. It is purley coincindental that I got my hands on this now in the middle of all this. The guy I bought it from had been one of the lucky few who were able to get one from the very first batch of Truss' made - NOT from Sonoran Steel Directly.

I thanked Steve in my OP because I emailed him with some questions about the Truss, and he got back to me IMMEDIATELY with an answer, even though I was not a direct customer of his - That says ALOT about Steve, and Sonoran Steel, and his commitment to customer service.

Trust me, if I didn't have a line on one, I would have been in contact with Steve to make sure I was - paid in full - in line to get on from the next, if possible, batch.

Thanks guys - I am SO happy with this, I just need to fix a few minor issues with the Runner, and I'll be ready to get out there and put this thing to some good use. I should have the last issue tackled by Wednesday - anyone doing any wheeling in Arizona next weekend??? If so, I'm THERE!!!

I wouldn't worry about it... Mudhippy has a "unique" way of looking at one man fabrication companies.

I am sure most will see your post and use it the way you intended. It's definitely a good looking brace. Pretty evident that SS puts some time into the fabrication of those. Maybe you pics will inspire the minimum pre-order to be more easily met and allow more IFS trucks to benefit.

I see.

Well, I can tell that you are not happy, however, i must say that i think the reaction is over done.

First of all, it sounds like you haven't given SS any money. Is that correct?

If not, then why the rant? I would think that if you had gotten money taken, but no product, you'd be this mad, but since you are getting a truss from elsewhere, why all this anger towards SS?

He is a small fabricator. He is not the only fabricator of IFS trusses, downey and others make them. You are getting one made. He set the terms for this product before anyone gave him money. It seems to me that you are doing what you should be doing: you don't like the terms, so you are not purchasing. But all this jumping up and down has me confused. I cannot understand why you are so mad?

This is the same as going to the dealer, cash in hand, and buying a car that has the options that you want. Only, if that car is limited in selection, you have to wait until the next shipment comes in. And that is whenever the next batch of 1000 or whatever comes off the assembly line. Maybe you wouldn't do that, since you don't wait in line, but it is the exact same practice as SS is using in their business. So it isn't like this is a rare occurrence.

Anyway, sounds like you are getting what you wanted, congrats.

"Squeaky wheel gets the grease"

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm. No comment.

-Edit-
O.k., I will say this. I'd really be some kind of ass if I didn't buy one now. Rest assured, unless they are all spoken for, I will. Not that I deserve it, and if for whatever reason I don't get one, I'm still pleased to know that I ACTUALLY could have.
