hurting 4 runner

im new to this but i have a 90 4runner with over 260,000 miles on it and recently its very sluggish when its cold like barely moving. i tryed a coolant temp sensor but i dunno what else to try. it also smells very rich. any ideas would help thanks.

check your cat it could be clogged or just worn out that was my issue when I lost power and started smelling fuel

does it sort of "fall on its face" when you first try to move? and then hover around 1000rpm as you try to make it accelerate?

Is it an automatic tranny? If so I'd check the tranny fluid, if it's low you'll get sluggish acceleration (slipping).

Not sure, but i always let mine warm up for about 5 minutes before i drive it then its fine.

i was thinkin about the cat but wouldnt that be fine when its cold then once it gets hot it would start messing up? it almost seems like its missing or something?
