howling problem

howling problem

Hey i just bought an 88 pickup and when i first got it it was fine but now every once in a while i hear a loud howling noise coming from the front drivers side and i can feel the vibration in my feet i have no clue what it could be any ideas?

bearings, bushings, etc?

It could be a bad water pump or bad power steering pump, also check the idler pulleys, they can cause the same noise also if there bad.

i checked all the bearings and bushing there all in good shape ill check the steering and water pump tomorrow thanks for the help

i know that you might think the howling and vibration are related but check the front windshield trim usually at the top. if the rubber separates at all then you will get that loud as hell howling and it sounds like its coming from under the hood.. lol..

i checked all of that everything in good shape, it sounds like its in the drivers front wheel and it seems to make the noise above 40km/h and when it warms up

i fixed it! i decided to take the hub appart and everything was loose and full of dirt & water so i cleaned it, tightened it and decided to throw in some manual locking hubs while i was at it, thanks for all the help!
