how to lock up the rear on a 92 4runner?

Can any1 help me? im trying to find out how to lock up the rear on my 92 4runner! the front is already locked.It would be really nice to have the rear locked too! Thanks

What do you mean by locked?

like lock up the brakes? Or locked as in diff locked?

No worse than the OP ...

You lock the rear just like you lock the front - weld the spiders or install a locker.

NOTE: locking hubs don't mean your front is locked!

Ive had many people ask me if the front of my runner was locked after looking at the locking hubs lol

its a V6! aussie doesnt make a rear locker for the 92 4runner just the front . thats what it said on the website anyway!

That is correct ... unless you drop a 4cylinder 3rd member in ... personally, I wouldn't want a lunchbox in the rear. Either the smoother action of a full Detroit or a selectable.

No to argue that a Detroit or selectable is by far better,which they are, but the driveability of a vehicle with a lunchbox locker in the rear depends a ton on the tranny type and the original poster didn't state what he has.In aAn auto tranny vehicle, a rear lunch box is about as undetectable as a Detroit in the rear. Auto's don't have all that silly drivetrain loading and unloading that the manual trannys do and that's what causes almost all the quarks.
