How do I Measure the length for a cv rear driveshaft??
Hey guys im going to convert my rear driveshaft to a cv style driveshaft using a front cv shaft off of another yota but i am wondering how do i know how much it needs to be extended. Do i just measure yolk to yolk? How much compression and extension do I need to be safe???
Any help or suggestions are appreciated
Thanks, Niko

Why are you wanting to do that? Are you doing independent suspension in the rear?
I think it depends on how far your axles will travel and what not. A yoke to yoke measurement might work, depending on how you are doing the suspension. Take out your front CV axles and measure for a good general idea.

Im doing it because my truck is lifted to high for a regular u joint at each end drive shaft. I think you might be confused. I'm talking about a double cardan or cv joint driveshaft.
