How to Disconnect TPS Connector from TPS Sensor?(1986 22R-E)

Yeah, I know it's basic but I've never dealt with this type of plug before. Does the square ring need to be removed or do I just pull on it or do I press in on the sides as I pull? I have to be extra cautious because the plastic on the TPS sensor itself looks like it is on its last leg with a few cracks. I wanted to test it with an ohmeter. I think the sensor design is the same from 85-88.

Ok, the square clip or ring (about 1/2" above where the connector is marked "A01") has to be gently removed, then the connector will come off of the sensor.

Glad you figured it out I have those things go flying all the time.

Then I have never found them new.
