How difficult to change leaf springs
How difficult is it to change the leaf springs on a 1993 toyota 4x4 ext cab? Am considering OME 18 and was thinking of doing it myself.....

In theory it's super easy:
1) Jack up truck by the frame and support it so the suspension drops all the way down.
2) Remove u-bolts
3) Remove shackle bolts and spring hanger bolts.
4) Installation is the reverse.
In practice, it's usually a lot harder because the bolts tend to seize up with the sleeves that are inside the bushings, and a lot of times they have to be cut out. Also, old rusty u-bolts can be a pain, so just buy new ones and cut the old ones off instead of trying to reuse them.
Since you're in CA you may not have any problems with this stuff, but I've only wrenched on east coast rigs and the rust sucks.

you jack the truck up... support it, put the jack under the axle, then undo a few bolts and your good to go.
rust will complicate matters but really no big deal. I did mine by myself in about 1.5 hrs.
