Horrible mileage 1991 Pickup 4x4 22re
Hello everyone, My 1991 Toyota pickup 4x4 22re 5speed gets horrible mileage, It has 235/75r15 A/T wheels on stock rims, its an extended cab, Its stock height, no mods or anything. Head gasket and timing chain were replaced 30000km ago, all new plugs and wires, regular oil changes, no check engine light, Runs perfect. It has 200000km. It gets about 18L/100km(13mpg) in town and maybe a little better on the highway. whats wrong?

Has this just been noticed due to a drastic change ??
New to you vehicle ??
Just how are you figuring your fuel use ??
What are your driving habits like slow easy starts or pedal to the floor??
To be honest your mileage is better then mine Then my vehicles had a tendency to gain weight.
Weight is a killer of fuel mileage .
Where is the rpm most of the time lower the rpm without lugging the engine better mileage.
tire pressure do you run the pressure higher then normal .
Then do you live in the flatlands and very seldom see any type of grade or the mountains ??
Clutch slipping?? fuel leaks?? neighbors borrowing gas in the wee hours ??
Engine timing where it should be ??
Install a vacuum gauge and drive for the best fuel mileage .
In the winter my mileage is down in the single digits from the idling
