Is changing a headlight assembly out as hard as im making it? i.e., do I need to remove the bumper etc?

you have to remove the grille. Then you should see 4 bolts and then you can remove it once those 4 are out. I just hit a light pole, so I feel your pain.

man, she still bares the scars from that one... the fender's still bent in behind the tire, and the crome on the bumper cracked when it bent the left side up as the truck rolled over the tire, so I know it's only a matter of time before it starts rusting...

but it's no biggy, I'll pull the fender out later when I feel the want to, and the bumped will get replaced soon with an AllPro

yeah grill and the parking light then a few bolts give her a good yank then get the duct tape out place a 3 and 7/8 inch strip right behind the tailgate (needed to get the new one in) then you have to go in the house open the fridge make a sammich mail to to me then smoke a cig look at it for about 3 hours rubbing your head after youve doone that you need to get out the duct tape again this tim you need a 3 foot by 4 foot squaire and that goes on the hood to brace it for the new light then after you did that you just slide the new on ein and bolt it down!!

Gotcha. I've been trying to remove the grill, and its not going so well. Seems like it just pops out. Comments?

I believe the grill is held in with little flip tabs if you look inside to where it mounts to the front rad supports. Stick a small screwdriver in and flip the little tabs up then they should pop out of their retainers. That's how mine was anyhow.
