It's a 85 22r. I installed a alarm in the truck, had the issue, took all wires related to that out, still have the issue. Wondering if it's some sort of fail safe to let you know your brake lights dont work? Cause we've had the tail lights out a few times now as we're welding on the box and painting

wondering if you crossed a wire when you hooked up the flashing lights thing for the alarm???
if you did that at all...
if so it must be a crossed wire where you made the connections, hope this helps thats just where i would start good luck

check and make sure you have the correct bulbs, when i got my 4 runner the p.o had the wrong taillights in and when when ever you hit the brakes the headlights and dash lights would come on, problem fixed with the correct tail light bulbs

I thought that I maybe did, but I've basically pulled the whole alarm out to rule that factor out.

On a side not, the alarm asked for a wire to the brake switch, never seen that before on a alarm, and dont understand why.
