178K. My Volkswagen friend thinks that's old. HAHAHA. The engine does have a new head. The PO was an idiot (left the manifold partially unbolted because "it sounded like a V8 and it made a lot more power"...dumbass. I don't even want to know what the PO did to the previous head.

I rolled over 263K miles last weekend out wheeling. Tranny isn't stock (grenaded 3rd gear and replaced it last summer) but I think the motor is factory.

198K on my '91 4Runner, original lower end, new heads when the HG "recall" was done. I think original tranny too, but not 100% if it's ever had work, it's real tight still though.

Drinks oil, like a quart every 200 miles, but running Auto RX treatment at the moment to loosen up hopefully sticky rings......

Planning on doing the ISR, but other than that, fully stock right now.

210,291 and counting on my 94 (see sig)

Everything original except for the HGs (recall) and a starter (T-belt/water pump for preventitive maintenance)
Still runnin the original plug wires/rad/hoses/clutch/alternator/fuel pump ect...
Runs excellent
It burns about 1 qt an oil change (3K miles) which I thought was good for cruising 3-3,500 rpm all the time
If my previous american trucks (and gf's blazer) did 3,500 on the highway i'd get 10mpg and spend more money in oil than gas!
Plus I tow trailers a lot (toys)
I've also towed 3 cars and a 87 blazer with it this week alone
It'll cruise 70mph just fine pullin my corsica behind it.

I love it!

someone needs to forward this thread to a rep at Toyota R&D...

btw, a guy a lil while back brought an 89 yota std. cab short bed with a 22re and a 5 spd into Roseville Toyota here in CA on a trade in, and Toyota actually bought the truck from the dealership and paid for the rest of his new truck... reason why??? he rolled over the 1,000,000 mark, and ended up with 1,011,000 on the original motor...

My best friend is a service writer there, and was caught up in the hubaloo when the truck came in... he said that they just got some updated info on the truck, and toyota is meticulusly tearing everything on the block down, and documenting everything, and then they are going to rebuild it with the same parts and put it into a Toyota Museum in Japan...

pretty cool...

261k miles on my new 87 4runner. compression tested, and vacuum tested, 170psi 170 160 and 170, vacuum was at about 18 inches of hg. needle vibrates a bit, either needs new valve guides or valves adjusted. runs great. 22re with the automatic transmission. drove it 200 miles and from sea level to 4000 ft in the sierra nevadas. hit three big hills on the freeway on my way up to about 3500 ft, and the last 500 or so feet were on muddy wet roads up mountains. noticed the coolant temp climbed a bit, blasted the heater brought it back down. and played in the mud along with hunted for the rest of the day. and did the same thing again another time to go get some friends who were lost on their way up there. this is my first old school toyota truck, cant wait to get a few more projects going, dumped 600 bucks in my first week owning it and a numerous amount of time, and it was well worth it. kinda sucks though, im on the high end of the mileage table. i was hoping to see a lot of 500k miles posted. hehehe. grand total of about 2200 dollars truck and replacement parts. i still think its a deal even though its got 261k miles.

225,000...all original except clutch, brakes, seals, and valve cover gasket. The guy I bought it from last year took it on a trip across the U.S, into Canada, and back down to Florida. He documented mileage, fuel costs, etc... He also kept very detailed records of all the maintenance he's done, so I'm hoping to go many more miles.

Hello all, just found site, very nice.
Any how, my 91 4-Runner is showing 274580, but @ 256000 I put 35's on and did not change speedo gear so I'm guessing 280k +-. Problem though motor lost compression wont run after heating up. Just ordered new 3.0 longblock!

97 4Runner has 205000 all original miles. It doesn't burn or leak any oil over a 7500 mile service interval.
