High flow oil pump?

Are there any high flow oil pumps available out there for the 22re engine?

Why do you feel you need a high flow pump?
Have low oil pressure?

Don't have low oil pressure. This is my 1st yota and with cars I've built in the pass oil pressure getting to the head was minimal. I'm not looking for a high pressure pump just high flow pump to ensure enough oil is getting to the head. Basically I'm going to be rebuilding the motor with a new and head and I want to make sure the head is well oiled.

Not sure if I can say this is a way to assure you things are okay but oil to the head is not one of Toyota's 22R/RE engines' weak points. If the engine can be started, start it up and remove the oil cap. I'll bet you'll get a nice spray of oil out of the cap.

I can't say I've ever heard of a 22R/RE needing a camshaft or rocker arms replaced before the rings or bearings were toast.

And since you're talking about a new head being installed, if oil didn't get to the cam and rockers, someone screwed up cleaning the head.

there is a larger volume pump avaliable .. but on these engines , NOT necessary . 15100-35030 (toyota # off the top of my head )

this is the Turbo engine pump # .. and is a direct "bolt on" ..

Red face

If you are doing the engine new oem spec pump is plenty Get a mechanical gauge .

Why would you want to run a oil cooler ??? i could see it if you commute across long stretches of desert in 120 F temps. I can`t see you using a 22rec to pull anything long distances or very often

In cold weather you need to run a oilstat to get the oil up to temp before it goes into the cooler on those nippy minus 20 afternoons.

i would put the money to a engine heater first..

It is your vehicle do what makes you happy.

If you want to increase pressure, the cheapest way is to replace the relief valve in the oil pump with the adjustable one that LCE has.
