Missing one thing....

Knock sensor....it will detune all your efforts shoud it start sensing high compression preignition knocking.....pinging you may never hear. So, are you going to remove it else it will retard your timing and seriously kill your power.
Axe me how I know! Solved my problem using 105 octane ethanol mix and BP high test gas (previously Amoco white gas). If you are gonna play, you gots to pay!

Best of luck with the dollars spent....

Ughh I used to be a v8 guy and correct me if I'm wrong but 11:1 on an aluminum head should be just fine on pump gas.

It actually says 11.5:1 not to mention the bolck and head were both milled. My advice is to dump an ungodly abount of fuel in there. All this talk about high compression and ported head.... what about the valves? Stock size? Perhaps there is no mention of the valves because 11.5:1 + oversized valves + milled block + milled head = catastorphy Good luck with this venture. I have built a lot of high compression 22RE's 10.5:1 is a much easier compression ratio to tune. I wouldn't dream of 11.5:1 with a milled block and head. Let us know what happens.

I have plenty of clearence. before i ran the motor i clayed the block to check for clearence on my valves, they are stock size but stainless steel.

i have been running 103 race gas, and still had detonation during the 115 degree weather here in las vegas nevada. but thats why i went to a water methanol set up. water to cool the air charge and up compression and methanol to up octane and burn temp. so far so good. need to get different tire now im running 32/11.50.15 MT and no traction i need to swith back to an AT type tire.

Don't do the LCE big bore TB. The 60mm TB from a 7MGE(mine is from a Cressedia auto) is actually bigger, has all the same functions and can be had at a junk yard for $250 less. (mine was about $6)

Help were can i find a tach signal on my 90 toyota 22re, the standard - side of coil doesnt work

Look next to the fuse box on the left hand side of the engine bay. (It should be the only thing on the right hand side of the fuse box) There is a little diog. port that you can attach a small male connector to and plug right in using the green wire comming from your tach. The port is usually covered in a rubber plug and pops right off... I poked a small hole in that plug and ran the wire thru before attaching the connector and reattached the rubber plug creating dust protection.

Then just plug the other wires from your tach to power and your ready to go! Try to hard wire your tach so your not having to use a small switch to turn on its light, the battery lead that goes to your stereo works great!

how can you plan to do this and use stock sized valves that is crazy. Why bother porting everything and not do the valves. I mam sensing sometihng have you even boguht nay of this stuff or just going* to buy it? Cause you have like 10K worth the stuff listed. Why not just swap a supra motor and turbo it youd spend half the money have a sweet motor thats has 3 times the power and is 500 times more reliable. I really dont think a 22 series toyota block can take thta kind of abuse

i wanted the nalstalgic 22re 4cyl and i am putting out about 235 hp to the wheels and not yet tuned hopeing for at leat 250hp. i though about swapping the motor but i figured i would have more fun experimenting with and lc motor. it not the money it the fun to show off with a 4cyl.

I am not trying to be negative by any means but good luck with that. Even with stand alone and all the mods listed above you will never get that kind of power out of a high compression 22RE. Especially with EFI. You would have to devise a custom intake manifold because however much you bore it out it will never flow enough for that kind of power. EFI is not very accepting for those kind of mods either. Put an ultra high performance cam in it and see what happens. It'll be slower than stock. There is pretty much no way possible to get that kind of power out of a mild cam (required for EFI) and the low flowing intake manifold. Custom parts are required. You'll be pushing it at 185 hp (flywheel). Heavy iron block, long stroke, EFI, block configuration will not let you do it. Sorry, it is just the way the engine is designed.

:EDIT: I did not read about the Methinol injection part. I need to see pics and dyno stats.
