high beam problems... need help locating a ground.

high beam problems... need help locating a ground.
So like the title says I need help locating a ground wire. The one that I keep reading is behind the passenger fender. My highs won't come on, if I apply power straight to the high side they coke on. I've change the combination switch and filed down the contacts. High beam (or no low beam indicator like I've also read) indicator doesn't light up. I'm running 6k hid's with hid projectors (has the shutters for highs). Truck is a 92 22re 5spd 4wd. I've also checked for ground at the headlights when the lights are on (these are a ground switch setup correct?) And they are getting ground, just have an open in the circuit somewhere.

they are ground side switching, not common ground.
When you turn on the headlights, low beam is always grounded, but turns on power to common (+). when you turn on High, you are grounding it. There are many posts on a wiring harness to use to upgrade and turn into a common ground, switching low/high (+).

It IS installing the harness. It will correct your issues. You do not need the "toyota" harness, as you WANT to keep on the low beam when you put on your highs. The harness will also help stop any flickering due to voltage drops. You don't NEED it, but it is going to make it better.

Ok so basically I need to buy this (https://www.yotatech.com/forums/show...styleid=51)and I'll have highs again and have better light out put and stop the slight flicker in the lights (can see the flicker in the cutoff line when pointing the lights at a wall).

Your HID unit, did you buy a DC/DC or DC/AC ballast? If you went with the DC/DC, get the DC/AC. It has better control over the light output and the bulb is ignighted from both ends insted from just one side, It wont flicker nearly as much, it wont blue out on you, and will last longer.
That is the one. (though, the one pictured is for the HB1, 9004 bulb. You need the one for the H4)
It should cut down on the flickering.
