Hid
I'm looking to upgrade the lights on my 87 4runner. I use it as a daily driver so I need something besides off road lights. I'm thinking Hella E-codes with a HID package. Anyone trieded this. There are a ton of HIDs on amazon and FleaBay. Anyone used any of them? Any recommendations on a quality kit?

Element, that search thing doesn't work, you can't post a search results page up, as no one else can view it.
Here is a thread of another members set up:

And here is what I think of them:

I will only say, please don't.

Next time you create a new thread, please put more in the title than "HID", it will help out other people down the line.
And who might those other people be you ask? Why, they are the people who use the "search" button. And if there were more of these "searchers" then when the time came to search, we wouldn't have a ga-jillion thread where the first ten reply's are "search!"
Do a search, and you get plenty of recommendations, and opinions. Here's mine:
The cheap eBay, amazon whatever ones, are just that: CHEAP
Anyone who thinks that they can get the same quality components as a stock system for wayyyyy less is just kdding themselves.
There are tons of reasons not to use a hid kit in a halogen reflector. Search and hidplanet will give you all you need. Bottom line: Don't do it.
Yes, there are quality after market Hid kits, but you will not be able to get them for less than $200-$250. And just because someone is selling a kit for $200, doesn't mean that it is quality.
Sum it all up: do a retrofit if you really want good lighting, and it won't make you look like a donkey face
